The compressor oil spec on that 2019 fridge caught me off guard

I was looking up a part for a GE model and stumbled on the service bulletin about POE oil vs mineral oil for R600a systems. Turns out I'd been using the wrong oil for years on some older units, no wonder a few compressors died early. Found it buried on a forum from a tech in Ohio, not even in the official manual. Anyone else run into hidden specs like this that should've been front and center?

Yeah this is a real thing. I've seen POE oil specs buried in random service updates that never make it into the printed manual. It's like the manufacturers just assume every tech is checking some obscure bulletin board. I had a batch of compressors go bad last year before I caught the same kind of note. The manuals are basically useless for anything past the first year of production. You almost have to make your own file of these hidden specs if you do this work regularly.
