Wasted 3 hours on a panel swap in Houston before I checked the door contacts
I was swapping out a 20 zone panel at a strip mall in Houston and kept getting a fault that made no sense, so I pulled the whole keypad run and tested every wire twice. Turned out the little magnet in the back door contact was loose and the gap was off by a credit card thickness the whole time, and I had been chasing ghosts in the wiring for 3 hours. How do you guys check contacts first before you rip into the panel, or am I the only one who skips the easy stuff?
