Vent: Spent 45 minutes on a Vista 20P panel yesterday because I forgot to check the transformer voltage first
An old sparky at the supply house told me most installers waste time chasing ghosts when it's just a bad power supply, and after that stupid mistake I finally get what he meant... has anyone else kicked themselves over skipping basics like that?

Buddy of mine spent two hours on a dead outlet before realizing the breaker was tripped.

My buddy spent two hours on a dead outlet once before he found the breaker was tripped. Did you at least check if the transformer was humming before you pulled out the meter?
