That inspector's offhand comment about my torque wrench was dead wrong
Old-timer at the hangar in Tulsa swore my 30-year-old Snapon was fine for the flap actuator job, but the bolt sheared at 38 foot-pounds on a Friday and now I check calibration every single month, has anyone else had a veteran give advice that just didn't hold up?

That "dead wrong" part, yeah I used to trust old guys blindly too. This changed my mind.
