PSA: That new hire asking about your torque patterns is testing you

Had a guy in the hangar at DFW yesterday, fresh out of school, kept shadowing me and asking why I break my torque wrench down a certain way. I thought he was just curious, turns out he was logging every move for a compliance audit. He flat out said "my instructor said watch the old timers, they skip steps." Ive been doing this 14 years and never had my process questioned like that. Anyone else had their habits picked apart by a newbie on some hidden checklist?

Wait till he finds out the real secret is that I torque everything to the same setting and just pretend I'm being careful so the union rep doesn't yell at me. Guy's gonna need a bigger notepad for that one.
