Warning: My sister told me to stop spraying oil on everything before it goes in the air fryer

We were making frozen fries at her place in Austin last weekend, and she just tossed them in dry. She said the coating on most frozen stuff already has oil, so adding more just makes them soggy. Am I the only one who's been doing this wrong for months?

Your sister is right (most frozen stuff is already pre-oiled for crispiness).

Honestly @bennett.nora is spot on. Tbh I learned the hard way too, adding more oil just makes everything soggy. Now I just shake the basket halfway through.

My entire air fryer cookbook is basically a lie then. All those soggy sweet potato fries I blamed on the brand. I guess I owe the freezer aisle an apology.
