TIL a damp paper towel under my air fryer basket stopped the smoke alarm every single time

I was ready to toss my air fryer after setting off the alarm in my apartment 3 times in one week with chicken wings, but putting a wet paper towel under the basket (not in it) caught all the grease drips and now I can cook at 400 without the neighbors complaining, does anyone else do this or is there a better way to keep the drips from burning?
