Air fryer basket vs oven tray, which one gives you that real crunch?
Three years ago I swore by the basket method for wings, but last month a friend from Austin brought over her oven tray version and the texture was so different I honestly don't know which camp I'm in anymore, so who else has done a side by side test and what did you land on?

Have you tried doing both at the same time, same batch of wings, same temp? I did that last weekend and it blew my mind. The basket gave me that super crispy, almost crackly skin on the outside but the inside was a bit drier. The oven tray version came out juicier but the crunch was more like a thick, crunchy coating instead of that thin, shattery bite. I rotated which one I liked halfway through, honestly. Ended up landing on the basket for wings specifically, but for chicken thighs or anything with more fat, the tray wins every time. It's like they're not even doing the same job.
