Vent: I called AI art a gimmick until I saw it animate a whole storyboard in Phoenix last year.
The team at a local studio used Midjourney v5 to create consistent character angles for a pitch, saving them about 40 hours of work. Has anyone else had a project that completely flipped their view on a specific AI tool?

Still seems like a shortcut that devalues the craft to me.

Honestly, that's the thing. It stops being a gimmick when it solves a real problem for real people. Saving forty hours is forty hours you can spend on something else. The tool is just a tool.

Man, I get that feeling. I was the same with those AI upscaling tools until one fixed a blurry old family photo for my mom. It just made her so happy. Sometimes the practical use just hits different.
