Just realized my client presentation deck got recycled by accident in Chicago
First, I asked my intern what happened and she was freaking out. I spent 20 minutes trying to recover the file from the cloud trash folder, but it was already purged because our plan auto deletes after 30 days. I had no choice but to present off the cuff. I drew out the audience funnel, talked through the budget split by channel, and referenced last year's campaign numbers from memory. The client said it felt more honest and less like a sales pitch. That was lucky, but I know that won't happen twice. What do you all do to keep backups before big meetings, or do you just trust your process?

The real problem here isn't the backup, it's that the cloud trash purged on you. That 30 day auto delete is a setting most people never check until it bites them. Went through that same mess last year. Now I keep one copy on a hardware drive that sits in my bag, not plugged into anything. The cloud is fine until it isn't.
