Reflecting on that time I planted potatoes too deep

Oh man, that's not just dirt storage, that's a whole failed underground real estate business! The taxman's gonna come check on those lumpy golf balls.

I finally spoke up about the endless training for new car systems.

A whole week for one course, and it still delayed your actual work. That's actually kind of shocking to me (and I deal with scheduling headaches every day). I get that EVs are important, but if the training eats up that much productive time, how is a small shop supposed to pay the bills that week? The cost isn't just the course fee, it's a week of lost labor. There has to be a better way to structure this stuff so you aren't just trading one problem for another.

Foam disaster with my latest homebrew pale ale

Yeah, @emery680, you're totally right about the priming sugar mix being that one tiny step. I rushed stirring once and had bottles that were either totally flat or geysers. One exploded so bad it left sticky drips on my basement rafters. Now I slowly stir with a big spoon for five full minutes and chill bottles for two days before opening. That careful mixing fixed my uneven carbonation for good. What's your go-to method to avoid those sugar bombs?

Hot take: Losing the knack for setting belt drives by ear and hand is a surefire way to get caught out when the new tech fails.

Parker's tractor story is cool, but that's a very specific old machine problem. For most stuff now, when a sensor fails you just swap it out (a lot are plug-and-play). Keeping the old knowledge is neat, but I don't see it as some huge risk if you don't. Modern tech fails in simpler, dumber ways.

Just realized how a weekly virtual coffee chat has changed my remote work experience.

@skyler_lewis45... but we always prioritized tasks, remote work just showed it.
