Can we talk about the old way we used to fish wire through finished walls

I was running a new circuit in a 1960s house last week and realized my old steel fish tape was way better than those modern glow rods... the flexibility just ain't the same anymore. Spent 45 minutes fighting that fiberglass stick before I gave up and dug the old tape out of the van, got it done in 10 minutes flat. Anybody else notice the newer tools just don't hold up like the stuff we started with?

Had a buddy who swore by his fancy new glow rods till one snapped in the middle of a ceiling crawlspace. He said it was like fighting a wet noodle for 20 minutes before he just crawled back out and grabbed his granddad's old steel tape.

Man, that sucks! I can't believe @mila_harris's buddy actually had a glow rod snap on him like that. Those things are supposed to be tough, but I guess not tough enough for a crawlspace battle.
