Question about networking at the Edmonton Chamber event versus the smaller meetup in Old Strathcona
I went to the big Chamber mixer last month and then a smaller, industry-specific meetup just last week, and the smaller one actually led to two solid coffee meetings. Has anyone else found the smaller groups work better for making real connections here?

Totally agree, the smaller ones are way better. You actually get to talk to people, right?

Yeah, you actually get to talk to people, that's the whole point. My friend went to a huge one last month and said it was just a crowd of people staring at their phones. At a smaller one, she ended up having a real conversation with someone, like you said taylor_miller10, and they even met up for coffee later. It just feels more like a community when it's not so packed. Makes you wonder why the big ones even bother calling it a networking event.

Reminds me of those packed gyms where nobody talks.

But what if you're just there to see a specific speaker or company? Big events have way more options, even if the crowd is kinda dead.
