Serious question, does paint quality really matter that much for a bedroom makeover?
I redid my guest bedroom last month. Used the cheap $20 a gallon stuff from the big box store. It looked great day one. But after 3 weeks, I already see fading near the window and a spot where the wall got bumped showing the old color through. My buddy Jake swears by the $50+ gallon Sherwin Williams stuff. Says it saves you from having to repaint every year. On the other hand, my sister did her whole living room with cheap paint 2 years ago and it still looks good. Is it really worth the extra cash or just a waste? What's your experience been?

Man my wife and I used that same $20 Behr stuff on our master bedroom and I regret it SO much. We had a scuff mark from moving a dresser and it just peeled right off in a strip. Meanwhile my buddy did his kid's room with the upper tier Valspar from Lowe's and that room takes a beating from toys and sticky fingers and still looks fresh after a year. I painted our dining room with cheap paint too and the sun coming through the blinds literally left permanent lighter rectangles on the wall. So yeah after wasting money on paint twice now I'm fully team spend the extra cash and save yourself the headache.

Sun leaving lighter rectangles" - did you try touching those up or just gave up?
