Tried using rust remover vs. a wire brush on my old iron gate
I have this iron gate in my backyard that's been sitting there for years with rust spots all over. Last weekend I finally decided to clean it up, so I tried a wire brush on one half and a rust remover spray on the other half. The wire brush took me almost two hours and left scratches in the metal, but the spray dissolved the rust in about 15 minutes with barely any elbow grease. Has anyone else had better luck with one method over the other for rust removal?

Did you ever try one of those rust converters that turns it into a primer? I saw a guy on YouTube use that on an old truck bumper and it actually looked pretty solid. The spray sounds way easier than the brush honestly, two hours is brutal. I've heard some people say the acid in those sprays can eat into the metal too deep if you leave it on too long though, might be worth checking the bottle instructions.

Hey @the_mila, you're right, I used to think those rust converters were a gimmick but you changed my mind.
