I finally cracked the code on cheap flights using incognito mode and VPN
Spent 6 months booking flights the normal way and getting slapped with $900 tickets to Thailand from Denver. Then I tried clearing cookies AND using a VPN set to Mexico, and the same flight dropped to $520 in 10 minutes. Has anyone else found a country location that works better than others for this?

Buddy of mine tried the Mexico VPN trick for a Denver to Tokyo flight and it barely budged. He got frustrated, switched his VPN to Singapore on a whim, and the price dropped almost $300. He was booking through a different airline though, like a Japanese carrier instead of the usual US ones. He figured it was because that airline had special promo fares only visible in certain regions. The whole thing was done in under 15 minutes but he spent like an hour testing different countries first.

lol I used to think the VPN thing was total BS honestly, I was one of those people who was like "algorithms aren't that simple" or whatever. But then last month I tried setting mine to Turkey for a flight to London and it dropped by about $200 compared to what I was seeing in the US. Your friend might be onto something with India though, I keep hearing people say it works for certain routes but not others. I'm kinda convinced now that the pricing algorithms are way more location based than I thought.

Wait, has anyone tried booking from a less obvious VPN location? My buddy swore by setting his VPN to India and snagged a round trip from Chicago to Rome for like $400. He said it worked way better than the Mexico trick, but then again he's always messing with tech stuff. I wonder if it depends on the route or airline though, like some places just don't have the same pricing algorithms.
