The cloud storage panic at 2am in my kitchen
Woke up to a dead phone and lost 3 years of family photos because my auto-backup had been silently failing, spent the whole night rebuilding my entire file system into a local hard drive and now I'm wondering if anyone else trusts their cloud sync less after a scare like this?

Skip the paranoia, cloud backups are way more reliable than people give them credit for, and one bad night doesn't mean the whole system is broken. You probably just had a bad settings or wifi hiccup, so patch that up and move on.
