Just realized my "keep 5 backup copies" rule is doing the opposite

Whoa, wait, how does that even work? Like, are you telling me the copies themselves are eating up so much space that you're deleting the real files to make room for them? Or is it more like you've got five different versions saved and you can't remember which one is the actual latest, so you end up editing the wrong one on accident? I've been there with just two copies, let alone five, and it's a total mess trying to sort out which file has the stuff you actually need. Honestly, at that point you're just hoarding digital clutter, not protecting yourself.
