Heard a kid at the library say they'd never used a drawing tablet without a screen

It made me remember saving up for my first Wacom Bamboo in 2010, which was just a gray plastic pad you had to stare at your monitor to use. The disconnect between hand and screen felt huge back then. Anyone else start out on one of those older, screenless models?

My first tablet was a used Graphire 2 from 2003. The hand-eye thing was weird for a week, then your brain just rewires itself. I never felt like it held me back at all.

Oh man, my old Bamboo felt like learning to draw all over again!

Got my first cheap Huion last year. Total disaster. Spent twenty minutes drawing before I realized the pen cap was still on. @charles442 the hand-eye thing is real but my problem was I couldn't stop looking at my hand instead of the screen. Drew a cat that looked like a potato with legs.
