Dropped a valve in a 6.7 Powerstroke last Tuesday, cost me 4 grand

I was doing a routine injector replacement on a 2015 Ford F-250 near Boise and heard a weird knock after startup. Pulled the head and found a cracked valve seat that must have been there for months. Anyone else seen this on the 6.7s or did I just get the lemon of the batch?

Hate to hear that happened to you. I've seen a handful of cracked seats on the 6.7s, but it's not super common usually more of a mileage thing than a manufacturing defect. Hope the fix gets you back on the road without any more surprises.

Actually the 6.7L Powerstroke seats aren't really a mileage thing, more of a heat issue from the DPF regen cycles. Ford had a TSB on it back in 2017 for the earlier models that showed up under 60k miles pretty often. But yeah hopefully they get it sorted quick, nobody needs that headache on a truck payment.
