Found my old receipts from 2018 and spotted a pricing mistake
I was cleaning out my desk drawer last night and found a grocery receipt from 6 years ago. For fun I matched it against today's prices on the same items at the same store in Columbus. The store had been charging me a higher price on a specific brand of canned tomatoes than what was on the shelf tag for about 4 months before I caught it back then. It made me wonder how many other little pricing errors slip through weekly... has anyone else ever cross checked old slips like that?

Is this really worth worrying about years later?

You said "Is this really worth worrying about years later?" and honestly that's exactly what I keep circling back to. The thing is, time has a way of making stuff that felt huge back then seem almost silly now, but that doesn't mean it was never important. What you were worrying about years ago was probably a big deal in that moment because you didn't have the 20/20 hindsight you have now. Gotta give yourself some grace for caring about things at the time, even if they don't look so scary from here.

Hold up, I gotta correct something real quick. Reese said you were talking about "what you were worrying about years later" but the post was about finding old receipts, not about worrying over something. You were literally just curious if other people had caught pricing mistakes too, you weren't stressing about it. People get way too caught up trying to psychoanalyze a simple question about grocery store errors.
