The $15 thermos that made my night shifts bearable

My coworker Dana kept telling me to stop using the communal coffee pot at work because it sat for hours and tasted burnt. She finally lent me her cheap thermos and said I should brew at home before my 11 PM shift. I tried it for a week and honestly the coffee stayed hot until 3 AM without that metal taste. The trick was preheating the thermos with boiling water for 5 minutes before pouring in the brew. Now I bought two of them and I only use the work pot when I'm desperate. Has anyone else found a thermos that actually keeps flavor past midnight?
