Blew a render on a client project because I forgot to check proxies first

I was sitting in my home office last Tuesday with a 4K timeline that kept crashing, turns out I had three clips linked to offline proxies from a shoot six months ago. Has anyone else had a weird proxy issue kill their timeline right before a deadline?

Man that's brutal, I feel your pain. Had a similar thing happen last fall where my whole timeline went red because the proxy folder got moved to a different drive during an update. Spent three hours re-linking everything while the client was sending me "just checking in" emails every twenty minutes... really makes you want to throw your computer out the window.

Wait, did your timeline go completely red or just some clips?

Wait, the WHOLE timeline went red? That's insane, I would have lost my mind if every single clip just dropped like that. Three hours of re-linking sounds like a nightmare, especially with the client breathing down your neck. I've had proxy folders get shuffled but never that bad, usually just a few clips get orphaned.
