I finally stopped losing pallets to wet lumber tags

Had a load of framing lumber show up soaked last Tuesday and half the tags were mush by the time we got to the third lift. Spent an hour re-identifying everything against the packing slip, held up the whole crew. Tried spraying the bundle ends with cheap clear coat from the hardware store, took maybe 20 minutes total. Next wet delivery last Friday, every single tag stayed readable through the storm. Cost me $12 for the spray and it saved more than that in labor alone. Anyone else dealing with weather wrecking their inventory tracking this season?
