Heard a guy at a diner in Reno say the moon landing was faked, and he had one detail I can't shake
I was eating breakfast at a diner off Virginia Street in Reno a few weeks ago and the table next to me started talking about the moon landing. One guy said he worked with a man in the 90s who claimed the whole thing was filmed in a hangar in Nevada, and he brought up the fact that the Apollo 11 flag looked like it was waving. A second guy at the table pushed back and said the flag only moved because the astronauts were twisting the pole into the ground, and that it settled once they let go. I stayed out of it but I went home and looked it up, and both explanations are out there. The first guy also said we somehow lost the original telemetry tapes, which sounds suspicious until you read that NASA reused and erased a lot of magnetic tape in the 70s and 80s to save money. So now I'm stuck in the middle, and I want to know where people here land on this, do you think the flag and the tapes are real evidence or just normal messy history?
Does a budget cut at NASA really count as a cover up? Reusing tape in the 70s to save a buck sounds exactly like something a broke government agency would do, not some shadowy plot. And the flag thing, come on, it has a rod across the top so it stays out, of course it looks stiff and weird up there. If you want a real rabbit hole, check out why we can't find the original broadcast footage either, though half the country taped over stuff back then too.
