Can we talk about the conspiracy file I lost during a power surge?
Last Tuesday I was deep into a research thread about JFK's limo driver and the car's stopping pattern. My laptop just went black during a storm and I lost 3 hours of notes and links. I had everything in a single text file with zero backups. Now I'm re-tracing every rabbit hole and it feels impossible. Has anyone else had their whole case study wiped out like this?

Wait, were you seriously running a three hour deep dive with zero backup in a thunderstorm? Like you didn't even have auto-save turned on or a cloud backup running in the background? I have to ask because that's a rookie move, man. I've lost enough stuff over the years to know that if it's not saved in three different places it doesn't exist. Not trying to be a jerk but you basically set yourself up for pain there. So what's your plan now, are you just gonna start over from scratch or did you remember enough of the key links to retrace things?

Yeah @jesse_green55 has a point - how many tabs did you lose in that crash?

Three hours of rabbit hole notes and a thunderstorm warning ignored is a choice, not bad luck. You made that file's death wish yourself.
