Serious question, does anyone else get annoyed by people who only read the big 2?
I used to be nice about it when someone said they were a comic fan but only read Marvel and DC. After a con in Portland last spring where a guy told me Image and Dark Horse don't "count" as real comics, I stopped being polite about it. Now I just ask them what their favorite non-superhero creator owned book is and watch them panic. Has anyone else had to deal with gatekeepers like that or is it just me?

Heard an actual comic shop owner in Boston talk about this exact thing. Said the "big two only" crowd misses out on half the good stuff that comes out each year. Those people tend to think superheroes are the only genre that matters. Funny how they never have much to say when you ask about stuff like East of West or Invincible from back in the day. Dark Horse puts out solid horror and sci-fi that most of them have never touched. A real comic fan reads everything, not just what has a movie coming out.
