My collection hit 500 single issues and I'm not sure how to feel about it
It started as a few boxes from my uncle, but after 15 years of buying and trading, I just counted them all. Part of me is proud of the history, but another part wonders if I'm just hoarding paper. Does anyone else get that weird feeling when they hit a big number?

Ever think about what stories they tell?

Oh totally, I hit 300 last year and immediately started calculating how much my back would hate me if I ever had to move them. Guess we're just curating very expensive recycling.

Curating very expensive recycling"... come on though, you're totally missing the point. Those books aren't just trash waiting to be thrown out. Each one is a little time capsule. My dad had a copy of "For Whom the Bell Tolls" from the 60s with a grocery list scribbled inside the back cover from some random person. That's history, man. Moving them is a pain, sure, but that's part of owning physical stuff. You can't just reduce them to recycling unless they're literally falling apart. If you really think that way, why not just go all digital and save yourself the backache?
