Pro tip: Don't buy a cheap burr grinder from a department store sale
I grabbed one for $35 last month, and the inconsistent grind ruined two whole bags of beans before I gave up. Has anyone had good luck with a budget-friendly model that actually works?

Actually, I get why they tried a second bag. Sometimes you blame the beans, not the tool. You think maybe you got a bad roast or stored them wrong. It takes a minute to accept you just bought a terrible grinder. Throwing out a new gadget feels wasteful, even when it's clearly junk.

Wait, you went through two whole bags of beans with that thing? I mean, I would have lost my mind after the first pot of coffee tasted like dirt and grass. That's like twenty bucks worth of beans just wasted. I can't believe you even tried a second bag, I would have thrown the grinder out the window.

But you kept trying to make it work. Did you adjust the settings every single time, hoping the next click would magically fix it, or did you just accept the bad coffee for a while?
