Vent: watched a bootcamp grad brick their whole project with one comment
Honestly, I was helping a friend at a coworking space in Austin last Tuesday and they spent 40 minutes debugging a JavaScript function. Turns out someone left a comment that said 'delete this line if you want it to work' and they actually deleted a real line above it. Ngl, it made me rethink how I teach my own students about comments. I always tell them comments are just notes, but seeing that mistake in real time hit different. Have any of you had a comment or a note in your code cause a total meltdown?
