Just realized my old G-code notes are almost useless now

Found a notebook from 2019 when I was running a old Haas VF-2 over in Tulsa, all my cheat codes for tool offsets and manual edits. Last week I tried using one of those tricks on the new Okuma we got and it just locked up the control, had to call the service guy. Three years ago I thought I knew everything about programming, now I feel like I'm relearning half of it with the newer software. Anyone else keep old reference books around that just don't apply to the machines you run today?
