My rice cooker quit on me at 6pm and I made dinner with a coffee mug instead
Last Wednesday I got home to my apartment in Akron and my $12 rice cooker from the thrift store was dead, just blinking and clicking. I had a bag of dry rice, four eggs, and about $2 left in my food budget for the day. So I cooked half a cup of rice in a coffee mug in the microwave, covered with a plate, about 5 minutes, then stirred in two scrambled eggs and a spoon of soy sauce. It came out way better than it had any right to, and now I want to know if anyone else has microwave mug rice tricks that actually work.
