The 15-minute rule that saved my weekend errands in Nashville

I kept blowing my whole Saturday running around town, so last month I started setting a timer for each stop, 15 minutes max, before I even get out of the car. It sounds silly but it forces me to grab only what I need and skip the browsing. Last week I finished five stores by 10:30 am, which never happened before. Has anyone else tried a hard time limit like this, or do you have a different way to keep errands from eating your day?
