Hit the jackpot at a garage sale in Boise last weekend
I was just killing time before a dentist appointment and found a box of vintage National Geographic maps from the 1960s for $5. The detail in those old fold-out maps is wild, way better than anything on my phone. Has anyone else found something unexpectedly cool at a random garage sale?

Oh man, "the detail in those old fold-out maps" is exactly what hits me too. I snagged a 1970s atlas from some lady's curb pile last summer and the hand-drawn elevation lines and tiny town names are So much cooler than scrolling around on Google Maps. It's like a time capsule of how people used to see the world, plus the paper smell is Weirdly addictive. Honestly these old maps show way more character than anything digital. Good score on that $5 find!
