Cut corners on a glue-down job last month and paid for it twice
Took a shortcut on a commercial office in Phoenix. Didn't let the adhesive tack up long enough. Thought I knew better. Three days later the carpet was bubbling in the high traffic lanes. Had to rip it out and start over. Cost me an extra $400 in material and a weekend. Anyone else learn this lesson the hard way?

@grantf73 said kids were tripping on the seams?? That's nightmare fuel right there. I would've lost my mind if someone got hurt over my own dumb shortcut.

Man that stings. I did the same thing with a glue-down in a school hallway two years back. Rushed the tack time because the boss was breathing down my neck. Thought the floor looked fine when I laid it. Two weeks later the edges were curling up something awful and kids kept tripping on the seams. Ended up having to rip out half the floor and redo it with a better adhesive. Its always the jobs you try to speed through that cost you the most time in the end.
