Bought a cheap knee kicker on Amazon and it actually held up for 6 months

My old kicker finally gave out after 10 years so I grabbed a $35 one from Amazon just to get through a job. Figured it would break by lunch but that thing has done 4 full houses now. The head isn't as grippy but for small rooms it works fine. Anyone else had a cheap tool surprise them?

Buddy of mine bought a $30 floor nailer for a single room job and it’s still going three years later. He keeps waiting for it to die so he can justify buying a nice one.

I saw a YouTube video from a contractor who tested a cheap Harbor Freight nailer and it actually held up pretty well for the first few jobs. But he said the problem was with the depth adjustment - it was really finicky and eventually stripped out after about a month of use. That $20 gamble might work fine for your buddy, but I guess it depends on how much you use it and if you're okay with it breaking down later. A lot of people in the comments said they had luck with those budget guns for light work, but not for daily professional use.
