Dude at a campsite told me my sleeping bag was inside out

Was setting up late near Big Sur last month, tired as heck. This guy from the next site just walked over and said "dude, your sleeping bag is inside out, you're gonna freeze." Felt like an idiot but he showed me the baffles were backwards. Anybody else have a stranger point out something obvious you missed?

Guess at least the guy was friendly about it. Nothing like a random stranger fixing your camping mistake before you actually freeze.

$20 says he's been that guy before too.

Haha yeah that's probably true. Most people who help like that have definitely been in the same spot themselves. It's like an unspoken rule of the trail or something. Once you figure out how dumb a mistake feels, you kinda want to spare someone else the same lesson. And honestly, it's way better to learn from a friendly stranger than from your own shivering in the middle of the night. That kind of luck doesn't come around often but when it does it sticks with you.
