Serious question... do you go straight through drywall or do you fish around the stud every time?

My buddy works at a shop near Austin and he says the same thing happens with car repairs all the time. They'll just throw a new sensor in and clear the code without actually checking the wiring or the real issue. It drives me crazy because it's basically kicking the can down the road until the problem comes back worse. Big companies and even local shops do this with everything from phones to refrigerators - patch it cheap now, let the next guy deal with it later. Feels like nobody wants to actually fix anything right the first time anymore.

Saw a pro on YouTube who always goes straight through and patches it.
