Old timer corrected my coax prep, saved my whole Friday
Last week I was doing a rewire in a rental complex in Phoenix, and this older installer, must be 60, watched me strip a line and just laughed. He said I was leaving too much shielding, that I'd get ingress on the modem test every time. I thought I knew better, but he was right, I ran it and the signal was garbage until I re-did it his way with 1/4 inch of braid folded back. Has anyone else had a veteran spot a tiny habit that was screwing up your work without you noticing?
