That fancy drawer slide jig cost me a whole weekend in Austin

I picked up a high-end undermount slide jig from a local supplier thinking it would speed up my cabinet builds. Turned out the setup instructions were garbage and the alignment pins kept slipping on plywood, so I fought it for two full days before giving up. What actually solved it was a simple 3/4 inch scrap block and a spacer cut on my table saw, something I should have done from the start. The jig now sits in the bottom of my van collecting dust, which annoys me because I paid $180 for it. My old method took maybe 10 minutes per door, but I wasted 14 hours trying to trust the fancy tool. Has anyone else had a pricier fixture make their workflow worse instead of better?
