I was waiting on my brother's hearing at the Oakland office on Clay St and some guy who'd been through it twice told me the medical records your own doctor sends in matter way more than anything you say at the hearing. He said his first denial happened because his records were a mess and his second lawyer actually sat down and organized them, and that took 4 months of back and forth with his clinic. Is that really how it works, that the paper trail decides it and the hearing is almost a formality?
