Kind of seems like people are making this way deeper than it needs to be lol. It's just a guy showing you how to cut meat better, not some life changing mentorship moment.

lol yeah that tracks. I had a similar experience with this old timer at a hardware store who showed me how to properly cut a miter joint without it splitting. My boss always just yelled at me for wasting wood but never bothered to actually teach the technique. Those older guys have that patience and care that a lot of managers just don't have anymore.

Wait. Your boss never showed you how to cut a miter joint? That's crazy to me. Thats like a basic carpentry skill, right? You'd think they'd want you to not waste wood. But nah, just easier to yell. I bet that old timer set you straight in ten minutes what your boss couldn't do in a year.
