Just realized the pizza stone I bought in 2019 is why my oven stopped burning the bottoms
For two years my oven ran hot on the bottom and every frozen pizza came out black on the crust and cold on top. I tried rotating the rack, I tried foil on the lower element, nothing helped. On a whim I put a $22 pizza stone on the bottom rack and let it heat for 20 minutes before cooking, and the bottoms stopped burning completely. The stone soaks up the direct heat so the element isn't blasting the pan from 4 inches away. Now I want to know, is a sheet pan full of dry rice the same deal or is that just something my aunt made up?
