That guy at the red light who taught me patience

I was sitting at a light on Main Street in our downtown area, already 10 minutes late to a job. This old pickup truck in front of me had a bumper sticker that said "I'm not in a hurry, you are." It honestly made me laugh out loud. The guy driving just sat there with his arm out the window, completely relaxed. When the light turned green, he took a full 5 seconds to start rolling. I started honking like a fool, then realized he was just living his life on his own time. Has anyone else had a random stranger's slow driving actually calm them down instead of making them madder?

The bumper sticker is honestly the best part. I've learned (the hard way, naturally) that trying to rush people who refuse to be rushed is a total waste of energy. I started doing this thing where I look at the person's face instead of their car. If they look calm, I take a breath and chill too. It's like a little game I play with myself, you know? And honestly, honking just makes my blood pressure spike and does nothing to move them along. So now I just sit back and figure the universe decided I needed an extra minute.

Tbh that bumper sticker alone would have made me smile too. I had a similar thing happen last week and it honestly reset my whole mood for the day.

I had a moment like that last week actually at the Kroger parking lot. Some guy was taking forever to back out of his spot and I could feel myself getting annoyed. But then I noticed he was trying really hard to avoid hitting a shopping cart that someone left in the middle of the aisle. I just sat there and watched him for like a full minute and a half and it actually turned into kind of a calming thing. By the time he finally pulled out I was just laughing at myself for almost getting worked up over nothing.
