PSA: that $48 dotted notebook from the art store bleeds through everything

I grabbed a $48 dotted notebook at the art supply shop on Canal Street thinking the thicker paper had to be better, and now every page looks like a crime scene with ghosting from my pens. My $12 Leuchtturm handles the exact same fineliners with zero bleed, so I honestly don't know why I keep reaching for the fancy one. Has anyone else bought a pricey journal that turned out worse than the cheap one, or am I just cursed at picking notebooks?
