Pro tip: masking tape on the page edge saved my monthly spread from a coffee spill
Last Tuesday at the cafe on 5th I knocked my mug right onto my November spread, but the tape I had stuck along the edges peeled off clean and the ink underneath was dry. Does anyone else tape their spreads before filling them in, or is that just me being paranoid?
Tape on the edges is a decent safety net but I'd rather just not keep drinks near the planner at all, since the real killer is when the mug tips and the whole puddle runs across the middle of the page, not the edge. I've also seen tape pull up cheap paper if you leave it stuck on too long, so you're trading one mess for another. The dry ink thing works because gel and ballpoint set after a minute or two, but if you use fountain pen or marker that stuff stays wet way longer and tape won't save you. I keep my coffee on a separate table, problem solved.
