I finally stopped trying to make my bullet journal look perfect and it actually helped me stick with it
After about 3 months of trying to keep a bullet journal, I kept quitting because I'd spend 30 minutes trying to make a spread look good and then run out of time to actually write anything useful. I'm a floor guy by trade, so I'm used to things being functional not fancy. Last week I just started scribbling tasks in plain black ink with no colors or borders or washi tape. Now I'm actually using the thing every day. Has anyone else ditched the decorations and found it worked better?

Read somewhere that messy bullet journals actually get used more often. @cameronn62 gets it, right?

Buddy of mine who's a carpenter had the same problem. He was spending more time picking out stickers than actually tracking his job sites. One day he just grabbed a cheap spiral notebook and a Bic pen, and now he's on his third one this year.
