Took me 9 hours to figure out why my miter saw kept cutting crooked on a trim job
I spent most of a Saturday on a simple baseboard job in the garage and could not get the corners to meet to save my life. Kept checking my angle, my blade, my technique, and everything seemed fine until I finally put a square on the fence and found it was off by about a degree from getting bumped around the shop. That tiny gap threw off every cut just enough to gap the joints, and I had already wasted six boards before I caught it. Back in the day I just eyeballed the joints and patched with caulk like everyone else, but now I care way too much. How do you all check your fences and tables for square before a run, or do you just find out the hard way like me?
