Spackle disaster in my new build, fixed it the hard way
Last week I was finishing the drywall in my garage workshop and used a cheap 2 inch putty knife on a large patch. The spackle dried lumpy and cracked overnight, looked terrible. I spent 2 hours sanding it down with a 60 grit block, then had to redo the whole thing with a wider blade and a damp sponge trick. My back still hurts from leaning over the sawhorse. Anyone else run into drywall cracks that reappear after the second coat?
