My grocery bill was $40 under budget for the first time ever

I planned meals around what was on sale at the Kroger in my town and used a bunch of coupons I had been saving. It felt like a huge win after months of feeling like I was always overspending. What's your best tip for cutting down the weekly food shop?

How do you feel about those meal kit delivery boxes? My friend tried one for a while and said the weirdest thing happened. She ended up with all these extra pantry staples because the kits sent exact amounts, so she stopped buying random spices and oils she didn't need. It kind of forced her to use what she already had, and her regular grocery trips got way smaller. I mean, the box itself isn't cheap, but it accidentally changed her shopping habits for good.

Congrats on the win, but is saving forty bucks on groceries really that big of a deal? It feels like we're all just patting each other on the back for basic adult stuff now. I get that money is tight, but maybe we're overthinking a simple shopping trip.

And @brianl53, doesn't that prove we're all just flexing over basic stuff nobody taught us?
